Topic/Skill: Speaking/Sentence Structure - Group 1

Teacher Presentation: Professor James began class with a discussion about sentence structure. She started with a series of incorrect sentences and what they were missing. After identifying common mistakes she build a model sentence structure with the students.

Classroom Management: Professor James asked students to volunteer sentences or examples.

Materials: PowerPoint, Projector w/word document.

Student Participation: Everyone was asked for feedback, answers and examples.

Feedback Provided: Prof. James provided direction to students that allowed them to make their own corrections to incorrect answers or sentences. Each incorrect sentence answered added to the list of correct models students could use to answer the next question.

Lesson(s) on teaching you learned: I learned a lot from Prof. James' comprehensive understanding and presentation of sentence structures. I liked how she used examples from the student's own speaking and also used examples pertinent to everyday life and activity. I thought the organization of the class was very organic as the students were slowly able to correct sentences with less support.
