Topic/Skill: Speaking/pronunciation + "Where are you from?"

Feedback provided to the tutee: I corrected Wei's grammar and pronunciation errors. She showed me pictures from her city of origin and discussed many cultural topics such as food, living conditions, and transportation. I modeled correct sentences for her and helped discover words such as "Subway", "Spaghetti intersection", and "Escalator". 

Lesson(s) about tutoring and/or the tutee you learned: This helped e learn a lot more about China! it was very cool. Additionally, I learned that by asking Wei to prepare some information about where she is from, it increased her schema and confidence for our conversation. I learned that people are more likely to have more energy discussing things that they have experience with. Also, I believe that this is a common situation Wei will be in as a foreigner here in the United States!
